Orientation Programmes 2016-17
The concept of an orientation programme emphasizes teachers as agent of socio-economic change and national development and underlines the need to make them skill-oriented teachers. The philosophy and objective of the orientation courses are related to B.Ed programme it is to inculcate in young teachers the quality of self-reliance through their awareness of the social , intellectual and moral environment.
The orientation programme for the first year students was held on 18.8.2016 and saw various dignitaries welcoming the freshers. In The SCAD College Of Education the Bridge courses were held on(19-31).
The Course Material and Activities:
On 19.8.2016 , Mrs.Geetha Assistant professor in English from Thoothukudi came as a resource person. She conducted the bridge course on the topic ‘’Presentation on Effective Communication skills and Activities for English language learning(mouth gymnastics tounge twister, abbreviations.
On 22.08.2016, Rev. Sundar Singh Preacher from Tirunelveli had conducted the bridge course on the topic Tips for health and good education from Bible. On 23.08.2016 Fr. Rex Campus Manager SCAD had delivered a talk on Personality development. On 24.08.2016 Mrs. Mary, Art Instructor from St. Ignatius College of Education, Palayamkottai had gave training on Italics Handwritting.
On 29.08.2016 & 30.08.2016 Ms. Pratheepa, Assistant professor in English from SCAD Teacher Training Institution conducted the bridge course on Spoken English. On 31.08.2016 Mr. Suresh, Assistant Professor in Biological Science from SCAD College of Education spoked about the awareness of Dengue. On 31.08.2016 Mr. Mohemmad Rahman from SCAD Engineering College taught the Quality of Good Teacher.
By this Bridge course programme the students were benefited and positive feedback had been given by them.
